When I decided to build a studio dedicated to yoga I wanted it to be a haven for everyone, not just those who have already found yoga, but to anyone interested. Life can be full of challenges but also discovery. As I look at how to be able to bring yoga safely to everyone, I've had to think outside my usual. To that end, I am offering Private Yoga Sessions for both individuals and small groups (or 'Pods' as my hubby likes to call them!). The great thing about these is that I am able to provide personal guidance and customize each session to where you are on this day of your yoga journey. Each practice will be individualized to the person or group whether you are wanting to build a meditation practice, have greater flexibility, get stronger, learn how to incorporate yoga into your everyday life or just have an hour a week for self-care. There are a lot of advantages and benefits to private sessions over groups classes: If you're new to yoga it is a more comfortable environment where you're free (and strongly encouraged!) to ask questions. We're able to focus on your goals and needs. You don’t have to follow the teacher and main group. I’ll meet you right where you are, and we’ll focus on your desired outcomes. Able to see and feel progress as each class can build off the last. There is more flexibility to work around your schedule The practice can be tailored to your injuries, limitations, or health concerns. Your first session will include an additional 15 minutes to discuss your goals, any relevant issues (injuries, etc.), and desired outcomes so a practice can be tailored to your specifics. What does a Private Yoga Session or Pod Lesson look like? During your private session: I’ll see and guide you through every movement, pose, and sequence. You can ask as many questions as you like We can take the time to discuss, break down and adapt any pose so the pose fits you, considering any injury you may have or discomfort you may feel We’ll meet on a day/time that is convenient for you I’ll help hold you accountable to your practice It’s important to find the right balance in your life. Each session may be different physically, mentally, and emotionally depending on how you’re feeling. We can work mainly on your physical practice or we can work on breathing and meditation technique This is your time to feel comfortable, empowered, and to enjoy your personal yoga journey.
This series will provide you the 'Essentials' you need to build a solid yoga foundation. We'll discuss "What is Yoga?”, the 8 Limbs of Yoga, and breath-work--how and why we breath the way we do. You will learn proper pose alignment and modifications, so the pose fits YOUR body versus making your body fit the pose. This class moves at a pace that allows integration at the physical and intellectual level. Here you are invited to explore the beautiful vessel of your body in a safe and non-intimidating environment. When finished with this series you will have the knowledge and confidence to walk into a yoga class of your choosing. This workshop will include handouts.
When we slow down we relax our nervous system, and are able to focus on our breath creating physical and mental strength. From slow progressive sequences to longer hold, we will explore balancing the body and the mind. This athletic class is designed to build power, strength, and balance. The goal of longer holds is to target and sculpt specific muscle groups while keeping a still mind. Each practice is this series will build upon the last.
This total mind/body practice, set to energizing music, combines strengthening and stretching poses that will build both physical and mental stamina and endurance. This series will produce physical transformation to your legs, hips, core, arms and back--all with no impact on your joints. When you finish this series, you will feel not only physically stronger, but mentally stronger and able to stay focused during life's challenging moments.
This delightful blend of aromatherapy and gentle yoga is sure to help you release your cares. We will start with a short flow to warm the muscles before we find some yin poses to ease tight muscles and release tensions. You will walk out of this practice feeling both soothed and rejuvenated! Each week you will enjoy a different essential oil or blend.
In this more advanced class we will flow at a powerful and deliberate pace focusing on building strength, endurance and stamina. While this is a power flow movement will still be intentional creating a meditative practice that challenges both the mind and the body. Some yoga experience and knowledge of poses is helpful in this practice.
This All-Levels Vinyasa style class is accessible to all, no matter your yoga experience.
This class focuses on harmonizing breath and movement. You will be lead in a
continuous flow where body, breath and mind are consciously synchronized, refined
and unified. Variations will be offered so you can find the pose that works and feels best
This class combines attributes of Pilates, dance, and functional fitness training. We incorporate small isolated movement to fatigue the muscles, large range motion to elevate the heart rate, and sequencing that incorporates upper and lower body to make every minute count. Upbeat, high energy music will keep you going as you work, sweat, and have fun!
